Event Description
Celebrate 20 years of elemental storytelling, unforgettable characters, and the epic journey that defined a generation.
Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert – The 20th Anniversary Tour presents a stunning live orchestral performance of the series’ beloved soundtrack, now elevated with a once-in-a-lifetime cinematic experience.
This special anniversary edition features a two-hour visual journey through all three seasons of the iconic animated series, projected on a full-size cinema screen with new elements and artistic surprises crafted for this special anniversary edition that offers fresh perspectives on the show’s legacy.
Preserving the original dialogue and sound effects, the concert replaces the recorded score with a powerful live orchestra, performing the legendary music of Emmy® Award-winning composer Jeremy Zuckerman, the creative mastermind behind the show's original music, in perfect sync with the action on screen.
From taiko drums and erhu to soaring strings and delicate woodwinds, the music comes alive alongside the adventures of Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Zuko, and more, all brought together by Zuckerman’s expanded arrangements and creative collaboration with original series editor Jeff Adams.
With a few inspired additions and celebratory touches designed to mark the occasion just for this milestone tour, longtime fans and newcomers alike will experience Avatar: The Last Airbender like never before.
Directions & Parking
Ovens Auditorium is located at 2700 East Independence Blvd.
Parking for events at Ovens Auditorium is available in the large surface lots surrounding the facility.
Historic Ovens Auditorium, located at 2700 East Independence Blvd, is Charlotte’s largest performing arts theater, seating more than 2,400. It has hosted some of Blumenthal’s largest Broadway blockbusters, including multiple engagements of WICKED, and popular concerts like the Beach Boys. The theater is managed by Charlotte’s Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA).
Ovens serves a critical role for Charlotte theater and music fans because of the high usage rate of Blumenthal’s Belk Theater, which is the home hall for the PNC Broadway Lights Series and many of Charlotte’s largest cultural organizations, including the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Opera Carolina and Charlotte’s Ballet’s annual “Nutcracker.” Many nationally touring shows brought to Charlotte by Blumenthal would not be possible without having access to Ovens because the required dates are not available in Belk Theater. Ovens larger size also ensures that fan access to tickets is maximized.
