Event Description
The Pre-Professional Performance is a culmination of works that have been staged on the 2024/2025 Trainees. Twenty-five young aspiring artists will present a full program of dance at the Knight Theatre on Friday, May 30. This performance will feature works by George Balanchine, Eliot Feld, Marius Petipa, and additional pieces choreographed by the Trainees of Charlotte Ballet.
The Pre-Professional Division is a year-round program open to dancers ages 15-21 by audition only and offers intensive study in ballet, pointe, male and female variations, pas de deux, men’s technique, modern and jazz. Our goal is to provide a transitional experience from the academic training setting to the world of professional dance. These students have the opportunity to work and perform with the Charlotte Ballet, and are considered for future employment with Charlotte Ballet II and the first Company. Our ultimate goal is to increase the stylistic range and versatility of our dancers, increasing their chances of a prosperous professional career with a variety of companies.
