Directions & Parking

A special preferred parking rate of only $10* is available for our patrons in the Bank of America Center Parking Garage.

  • Entrances: 150 N. College St. and 290 E. 5th St.

The $10 rate is applicable when parked in the garage after 5pm on weekdays, Monday-Friday. If parked in the garage before 5pm, the $10 rate is void. There is no time restriction for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday.

Getting and Using Your Parking Pass When You Arrive

  1. Pull the garage entry ticket when you arrive at the designated garage. You will need this to exit!
  2. Purchase a $10 Blumenthal exit pass at the theater or click here to purchase in advance online. If you would rather purchase by phone, please call 704.372.1000.*

When You Exit

  1. Insert or scan your garage entry ticket. Amount due will display on the screen.
  2. Scan your Blumenthal exit pass sticker.
  3. Gate arm will rise and the screen will display “drive safely.”

*Pre-paid parking is not available day of show.

Phylicia Rashad (director) An accomplished actress and stage director, became a household name when she portrayed Claire Huxtable on The Cosby Show, a character whose enduring appeal has earned numerous awards and honors for over two decades. Film and television credits include: The Beekeeper (2024 release), Jingle Jangle, Pixar’s Soul, Black Box, A Fall From Grace, Creed, Creed II, Creed III, For Colored Girls, This is Us (Three Emmy nominations), Diarra from Detroit, Little America, The Crossover, The Good Fight, David Makes Man, and Empire.

Inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2016, Ms. Rashad received Tony and Drama Desk Awards for her performances as Faye in Skeleton Crew and Lena Younger in A Raisin in the Sun, the Lucille Lortel Award for her performance as Shelah in Head of Passes, and a Tony nomination for her portrayal of Aunt Ester in August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean. Ms. Rashad has directed plays by Pearl Cleage (Blues for an Alabama Sky), August Wilson (Gem of the Ocean, Fences, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone), Stephen Adley Guirgis (Our Lady of 121st Street), and Paul Oakley Stovall (Immediate Family) at prestigious regional and Off-Broadway theaters.

Rashad, who serves as co-chair of the advisory council for the African American Cultural Heritage Fund, is currently Dean of the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University.

Paul Oakley Stovall (playwright) recently played George Washington on the Hamilton National Tour that played in Charlotte. Other credits include co-producing 2022 Tony Award Best Musical winner A Strange Loop, portraying Belize in Angels in America directed by Tony award winner David Cromer, and television appearances on Shameless, Empire, and Chicago Fire. Paul recently made his directorial debut to great critical acclaim with the US premiere stage adaptation of the film Gods and Monsters, based on the book by Christopher Bram.
