Education Field Trip Liaison

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Education Field Trip Manager, the Education Field Trip Liaison will guide assigned student field trip groups (5th to 12th grade) of up to 30 students through Space Explorers: THE INFINITE immersive experience at Blume Studios. The Field Trip Liaison will provide professional, engaging, culturally responsive instruction as directed and serve as a representative of Blumenthal Arts with the visiting school group. This role will be required to work onsite at Blume Studios (weekday daytime availability required). The Education Field Trip Liaison is a contracted position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead attending field trip groups through Space Explorers: THE INFINITE guided activities as prepared by the Blumenthal Education team. This includes but is not limited to: assisting students in putting on VR headsets, supervising students for safety within the exhibit, guiding groups throughout the exhibit with strict attention to program schedule, and facilitating instruction through provided curriculum at various points to incorporate key learning takeaways for attending students.
- Assist with collection and documentation of required waiver forms.
- Prepare daily materials and educational spaces in advance of school group arrivals.
- Collaborate daily with the Education Field Trip Manager to provide organized and engaging program implementation for attending schools. Communicate any issues or concerns with Field Trip Manager to ensure the program facilitation increases in impact and fluidity in continuity.
- Facilitate provided curriculum and adhere to assigned daily schedule with attention to detail.
- Maintain flexibility with late arriving groups and collaborate with Education Field Tip Manager and Front-of-House for day-of decisions to best serve attending student groups.
- Build relationships with participating schools and provide information to schools seeking additional information about Blumenthal educational programming.
- Contribute to program analysis providing constructive and proactive feedback for program adjustments and improvements.
- Utilize respectful, positive, and effective classroom management with students at all times.
- Participate in program trainings and orientations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in education, theater education, or similar field supplemented by two or more years of classroom experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with progressively increasing responsibility will be considered.
- Experience leading instruction for 5th-12th grade students preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop and implement creative solutions quickly and smoothly.
- Customer service experience a plus.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
