Immersive Game Host - Part Time

Position Summary  

Blumenthal Arts seeks a team of Immersive Game Hosts to facilitate gameplay for Monopoly Lifesized: Travel Edition. Under the limited supervision of the Immersive Venue Operations Manager, Immersive Game Hosts guide teams around the board as they take on challenges to win properties, earn money and escape from jail, all while embodying the famous Monopoly Tokens. In conjunction with the Immersive Game Operators, Immersive Game Hosts will instruct the play and manage the digital game, while providing an entertaining and immersive game experience.  

This is a temporary, part-time position directly tied to the duration of Monopoly Lifesized: Travel Edition. We are hiring 26-28 Immersive Game Hosts that are expected to work 20-30 hours per week, including weeknights, weekends and holidays. Training will begin mid-April and the run will conclude mid-October. Hosts must be able to commit to the full run.   

Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Take on the persona and costume of a Monopoly Token to facilitate the game for guests. 

  • Learn and enforce the rules of the game while guiding guests through gameplay. 

  • Utilize improvisation and interaction skills to engage with guests, respond to live situations, and adapt to gameplay dynamics.  

  • Assist guests with basic gameplay mechanics, including app-managed calculations involving money and transactions. 

  • Anticipate guest needs, address concerns, and resolve issues professionally.  

  • Adhere to brand guidelines to deliver a consistent and family-friendly experience.  

  • Engage with guests to create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment, while enforcing game rules and policies.  

Qualifications

Education and Experience   

  • Previous experience in performance or improvisation 

  • Previous experience teaching, leading, or facilitating gameplay is a plus 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Professionalism under pressure, and a positive attitude. 

  • Ability to exude high energy and enthusiasm for an extended period to motivate a crowd 

  • Public speaking 

  • Professional communication with diverse audiences 

  • Comfortability in front of a crowd 

  • Conversational Spanish is a plus 

Physical Requirements  

  • Navigate between rooms easily 

  • Speak to a crowd without amplification in a loud environment
