Retail Associate - Part Time

Position Summary
Under supervision of the Merchandise Manager, the Retail Associate will maintain the retail operation of Blumenthal Arts boutiques. The Retail Associate will create a delightful shopping experience, restock product displays, and maintain accurate inventory counts.
This is a part-time, seasonal position that is tied to the operation of specific event offerings that may include nights, weekends, and holiday seasons. Weekly hours will range up to 30 hours per week with several months of employment followed by periods of downtime.
Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure all areas are “show ready” throughout the day

Open and close boutique

Perform all POS duties including ringing up merchandise, taking payments, and offering receipt

Greet and assist customers with a friendly and positive attitude
-
Provide product information and answer questions to ensure a pleasant shopping experience

Actively engage with customers to understand their needs, recommend products, and close sales

Maintain a positive and professional attitude on the sales floor
-
Ensure all merchandise and displays are labeled and priced correctly
-
Daily upkeep and maintenance of the store’s space and fixtures
-
Advise Merchandise Manager on low stocked merchandise, slow moving merchandise and all other customer needs and concerns

Communicate and deliver daily sales reports to store team and Merchandise Manager

Ensure company losses are at a minimum in terms of loss prevention

Process freight / merchandise in a timely and efficient manner

Completes incident / accident report when needed

Assists with lost and found

Additional duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of customer service experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Previous retail experience preferred.
