Charlotte, NC –Blumenthal Performing Arts in conjunction with Corlin Productions offers adults the opportunity to explore the world of acting with programs taking place in Spirit Square:  Acting & Scene Study using “Method” techniques for adults with Linda Ann Watt beginning Thursday, March 10 and, the lecture series, The Actor’s Journey with Stanley Livingston on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 16 and 17.

THE ACTOR'S JOURNEY FOR KIDS WITH STANLEY LIVINGSTON
For parents of potential child actors

Duke Energy Theatre at Spirit Square
Stanley Livingston, veteran actor best remembered for "Chip" on the popular TV series MY THREE SONS, will host a video screening of THE ACTOR'S JOURNEY FOR KIDS followed by a Q&A.  Produced by Livingston, the presentation provides clips of interviews of 100 prominent entertainment professionals including directors, agents, casting directors, producers, highly recognizable actors and their parents. THE ACTOR’S JOURNEY FOR KIDS is a must-see for those who can fall prey to unethical practices in the entertainment industry. Tickets:  $30 in advance; $35 at the door. For Adults pursuing a career in acting

This video presentation of THE ACTOR’S JOURNEY was edited expressly for the adult pursuing a career in acting.  Thisis a very similar presentation to the one described above. Tickets:  $30 in advance; $35 at the door.
ACTING & SCENE STUDY MASTER CLASS FOR ADULTS

Thursdays, beginning March 10, 7-9 p.m.
Spirit Square Studio A, 3rd floor (345 North College Street, Charlotte)
12 weekly sessions
Employing the famed “Method” acting techniques of Strasberg, Meisner, Adler and Katselas, this fun, highly participative class will consist of 12 weekly sessions, culminating with a showcase performance June 2. (No session on April 21.) In addition to refining acting abilities, students will learn how to create an effective resume, perform “on camera” cold readings and audition with skill and confidence.
Instructor, Linda Ann Watt, is a highly regarded acting teacher, member of Screen Actors Guild and owner of Corlin Productions, a professional production house with locations in Los Angeles and Charlotte. Through Corlin Productions, Watt produced the educational DVD, The Method Acting Based on Stanislavski and Strasberg (written by Lorrie Hull, Ph. D.) with Cloris Leachman, Martin Landau and the late Shelley Winters. Watt also teaches youth through Enrichment Arts Program at UCPS and college students at Wingate University through a GAP Grant awarded through the Union County Community Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency.
Although ACTING & SCENE STUDY is designed for those wishing to pursue or enhance a career in acting, professionals in other fields will also benefit. According to Watt, “class exercises and activities equip one to be at ease as a public speaker or in a business meeting—on any occasion when the spotlight is suddenly focused on him or her.”  
The class is $252. Registration is limited.
