THE NEW ELLA FITZGERALD MUSICAL, TO LAUNCH NATIONAL TOUR IN CHARLOTTE FEBRUARY 11-13!
Charlotte, NC – Vocal powerhouse Tina Fabrique stars in Ella, a musical portrait of Ella Fitzgerald, launching its national tour in Charlotte Feb. 11-13 in the Knight Theater at Levine Center For the Arts.

Though it has been seen in regional theatres such as Arena Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Hartford Stage, Guthrie Theatre, and Actors Theatre of Louisville, this marks the first national tour for ELLA.  Under the direction of Rob Ruggiero (Broadway: Looped starring Valerie Harper, upcoming High starring Kathleen Turner), the talented Tina Fabrique (Broadway: Dessa Rose, Ragtime, Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk, How to Succeed…) transforms into the “First Lady of Song.”  The tour is presented by Eva Price for Maximum Entertainment Productions (Broadway: Colin Quinn Long Story Short directed by Jerry Seinfeld, The Merchant of Venice starting Al Pacino, The Addams Family, David Mamet’s A Life in the Theatre, Carrie Fisher’s Wishful Drinking, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas).  Columbia Artists Theatricals is the exclusive booking agent.
Tour launches in Charlotte, North Carolina with tour stops across the United States including Houston, Texas; Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Nashville, Tennessee and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It's a life lived out loud in this exhilarating new musical about jazz and swing icon and legend Ella Fitzgerald. This theatrical event weaves myth, memory and music as it tells the uplifting and poignant story of one of the greatest jazz/pop vocalists of 20th century music.
 It's 1966 and the fabled songstress is preparing for one of the most important concerts of her career. As she jams with the musicians (including famed trumpeter Louis Armstrong) and gets ready to meet the audience, Ella reflects on her life, her secrets and the love of music that made her soar.
 Featuring more than a dozen of her most famous hits, including "A Tisket, A Tasket," "How High the Moon," "That Old Black Magic" and "They Can't Take that Away from Me," this swinging new musical invites audiences to fall in love all over again with the magic and soul of Ella Fitzgerald.
