iNDIVIDUAL WORLD POETRY SLAM to be Hosted at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center’s Spirit Square, Dec. 10 - 13

Charlotte, NC – Reigning national spoken word poetry champions, SlamCharlotte, and Poetry Slam Inc. will host the individual World Poetry Slam (iWPS) Dec. 10 -13 at Charlotte’s Spirit Square. The event features world acclaimed performers, poetry and performance workshops, specialty slams and open mics throughout the four-day competition and celebration. Seventy-two contenders from major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Singapore, and beyond will slug it out in two days of preliminaries, culminating in a final clash of the top performers on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. on the stage at the McGlohon Theatre.
Tickets for the iWPS preliminaries and finals are available online at BlumenthalCenter.org, by phone at (704) 372-1000 or in person at the Performing Arts Center box office, located in the Belk Theater (130 N. Tryon St.). Tickets for the preliminary rounds are only $5. Tickets for the finals are $20. All access passes will be available at the performances for $40 (or $50 with a souvenir t-shirt).
