The 5 Browns – Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae – are the sons and daughters of Keith and Lisa Brown from Utah who wanted their Mormon children to have music in their lives. The goal was to raise “five good people.” Not only did they achieve their goal, but they also managed to raise five amazingly talented pianists.
Around the age of 3, each child showed a clear talent and interest in piano lessons, and while the children were introduced to other instruments, their passion was always the piano. Playing came as naturally to them as eating or sleeping and as early as age 9 they had each made their debut with a major symphony orchestra. They were the first group of five siblings to attend the musical conservatory Juilliard, which they attended simultaneously for five consecutive years.
In 2005 they released their debut album – titled The 5 Browns – on RCA Red Seal. The album spent eight weeks at #1 on the Billboard Classical chart. Their third album Browns in Blue merges classical and jazz worlds together to produce what can only be described as pure music.
